Puerto Moro

Puerto Moro

In a sparsely inhabited area with especially clear waters, at a shallow depth, there are many caves with abundant marine life. The lava caves of Mala create a mysterious and unforgettable dive. The formation of this amphitheater of molten rock is breathtaking, and along with the caves and swim-throughs, clean white sand, the abundance of marine life, this is not a descent to miss. This dive is a very interesting alternative for less experienced people as it has a spectacular cave under it as well as passageways and arches.

Marine life

Species from dark areas predominate, such as briots, alfonsitos, catalufas, conger eels, moray eels, bonelias, trumpet fish, gray rooster, schools of pejeverde....and the omnipresent angel sharks and mongrels, some of which are large size. We can also find blankets. A true giant of the ocean, the great manta rays were seen in Mala. And the locals' favourite: a loggerhead turtle made the cave entrance its territory.

The caves of Puerto Moro are full of shrimp, which flee with the light of your flashlight.
