the first hotel in Lanzarote, with which it began the tourist phenomenon on the island: the Fariones hotel. From this establishment extends a beautiful beach of more than a km in length of golden sand and calm sea.

Playa Grande, is also known as Playa Blanca, although the islanders know it more by the first name, perhaps Playa Blanca. to differentiate it from the beach in the south of the island, which has the same name.

The beach has the necessary conditions to deserve the blue flag of the European Union every year.

What to Do

It has umbrellas and hammocks, as well as a rental service for nautical services, such as pedal boats. Also very close to this beach, on Playa Chica, we can drive jet skis, do water skiing or wakeboard or practice the parascending.

The coast of Puerto de Carmen is one of the best places in the Canary Islands for diving.

Surroundings

From Playa Grande, heading north, extends an area known as Grandes Playas, which includes Playa de los Pocillos and Matagorda. Parallel to the coastline runs Avenida de las Playas, the main artery of Puerto del Carmen. Between the avenue and the beach there is a wide promenade with gardens and a multitude of palm trees. The walk is somewhat elevated in relation to the beach.
