Climate of Lanzarote

Climate of Lanzarote

Lanzarote and the rest of the Canary Islands have a climate extraordinary, hence they are known as the "islands of the eternal spring”.

The main characteristic of the climate of Lanzarote is none other than the mildness of the temperatures, in fact its average annual temperature is 22° C, very similar to what we can also find us in the sea. This temperature favors an exceptional climate which is due both to the geographical location and to the influence of the sea:

Night temperatures are rarely below 13ºC in winter and 20ºC in summer.

Sometimes, there can be so-called microclimates, strong differences in temperature between two nearby points, so it can sometimes be slightly cloudy in the north and sunny in the south or vice versa.

Rainfall is scarce and occurs mainly in winter. Due to this, the scarcity of water has always been the biggest problem on the island.
