1.600 m. extension of underground gallery, and 2.1 hectares of surface in the municipal terms of
Tías and
Tinajo.
This volcanic tuff is one of the singular points of Lanzarote. It is located in a great lake of lava formed by the Tizalaya volcano. It is perfectly passable (with due caution), and it has characteristic structures of these type of cavities: fronts of lava rivers, lateral terraces and curious staphyli formations (solidified drops of lava in form of clusters).
Juan Bello Mountain, a caldera of 436 m high emerged from a lapillus field and open to the west.
All these groups represent one of the most spectacular landscapes of Lanzarote, besides the vineyards planted in the cracks on the side of lava in the surroundings of the volcanic tuff. They are located at some hundred of meters from Masdache, in direction to Tinajo.
Neither wildlife nor plant life can be found in the interior of the Cave. The only one that can be concentrated is in the entrances. Extensive communities of lichens and good representation of bejeques are found in the surrounding fields of lava.
