La Graciosa

La Graciosa is the biggest islets of the Chinijo Archipiélago, North of Lanzarote. The other islands of the Chinijo Archipiélago are Roque del Oeste, La Graciosa, Alegranza and Roque del Este.

The population is around 600 and it is settled in Caleta de Sebo, the main city, and Pedro Barba.

Tourism is the main industry along with fishing. The island has a school, a post office, supermarkets, a port, a bank, and a square where bicycles can be hired.

Streets and roads on La Graciosa are unpaved sand. Motor vehicles are strictly prohibited and limited to a handful of licensed vehicles for special purposes.

Access to the Island is by a twenty-minutes ferry crossing from Orzola on Lanzarote to the harbour in the village.

The Beaches of La Graciosa are completely natural. All the beaches can fairly easily reached on foot:

La Laja: 100 meters of white sand in Caleta de Sebo

Las Conchas: 400 m. of fine white sand in front of Montaña Clara. Spectacular beach and views, 6 km from Caleta de Sebo

El Salao: 1500 m. of white sand 0.5 km. from Caleta de Sebo

Francesa: 400 m. of white sand, 2.5 km. from Caleta de Sebo

La Cocina: 100 m. of white sand, 3.5.km. from Caleta de Sebo

Lambra: 600 m. of white sand, 6.7 km. from Caleta de Sebo

Caleta de Arriba: 50 m. of white sand, 1 km. from Caleta de Sebo
